Dear Friends and Families,
Important information about the zoo for students
We will be going to the zoo this Friday. TLC students are allowed to wear casual clothes. We will be going over some expectations for the bus and zoo this week.
- Ensure your child is at the school BEFORE 9:10am so we can board the bus on time.
- Pack a water bottle, healthy snack and lunch. (no purchasing food at the zoo)
- Bring a light jacket or sweater.
- Ensure your child's backpack is light enough for them to carrying on their own.
- Wear comfortable walking shoes.
- Put on sunscreen and wear a hat (next week will be hot!)
Important information about the zoo for volunteers
A big thank you to all our volunteers, this would not be possible without you. I will be sending a package home this week with your child. Please check their communication folder.
This is a self-guided field trip and you will be taking them around the zoo. You may partner up with another volunteer.
Volunteers' responsibilities include:
- Please show up BEFORE 9:10am, check in at the office and meet in the classroom.
- You will be given a group of up to 4 students including your child.
- Ensure the safety of your group and that they are being respectful to the animals and zoo property.
Social Studies
We have been working on our All About Me poster. We have been presenting our posters this week! We talked about presentations skills and how to be good audiences. When we are presenting, we need to make sure that we speak in a loud, clear voice and our body is facing the audience. The audience needs to make sure that we are being good listeners and are sitting quietly.
Language Arts
Here are a list of sight words that we have learned in class. We have been using them in our writing!
I, a, the, is, dad, mom, bird, cat, dog, pet, on, in, day, see, with, to, and, my, can, go, for, she, her, you, this, saw, at, boy, run, he, play, was, trip, went, bus
Home reading exchanges are done on Mondays. Please ensure your child brings their books back.
