Language Arts
Here are a list of sight words that we have learned in class. We have been using them in our writing!

Math 
We will be starting our measurement unit this week!

Science
We started our plant unit! This week, we planted our little beans! They are starting to sprout! We learned that plants need 6 things to grow! Ask your child what they are (answer: air, space, water, soil, sun and love). We learned about the different stages that plants go through as well.

We did a cabbage experiment and learned to write like scientists! In our cabbage experiment, we mixed water and food coloring and put pieces of cabbage into a becker. We observed and made predictions about what would happen to the cabbage. Ask your child what their prediction was, what actually happened and why! Below is a video of a similar experiment except it was done with celery!

The Kindergarten classrooms will be raising and caring for super worms. This will be part of our science curriculum, as we explore life cycles and the needs of animals. The worms will be housed in a closed fish tank and students will not handle the insects; we are only making observations with our eyes. The worms will eat wheat bran and carrots until they are ready to begin their change into a beetle.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the worms in our classroom, please let myself or Mrs. Auer know. We look forward to watching and caring for these insects. Stay tuned for our learning insights.
