Safety Week

Hello Families and Friends,

This past week was safety week. We had a fire drill on Tuesday morning, a lock down practice Thursday afternoon and both the morning and afternoon class went on an evacuation walk with our Grade 5/6 buddies. Please talk to your child about what they need to do when there is a fire drill, a lock down and an evacuation. They all took the practice very seriously and did such a great job with listening and following instructions.

Ms. Julie, our occupational therapist, did an activity with us called Mat Man. "Mat Man does an important job. He helps children learn about their bodies, body functions, counting, taking turns, sequencing, placing pieces, and participating in a group." This is the link to the song that we used to build Mat Man!

As part of our pumpkin inquiry, we did a science experiment with our pumpkins. We predicted and tested to see if our pumpkins would sink or float in water. Please have your child share with you their experience. A lot of our friends predicted that the small pumpkin would float and the large pumpkin would sink.
