Happy Monday!

Hello friends and families!

Happy Monday! It was a very busy day at school today! We introduced a few new centres and there are new rules in the classroom. Ask your child, "What are some of the new centres and which one did you go to?"

This week, we started learning our letters and sounds. We are using Jolly Phonics and graphemes. Jolly Phonics can be found on YouTube and graphemes are attached to the booklet. I sent home a blue journal in the communication folder. Please find attached to this blog, the homework booklet for the week. I have not been able to get PowerSchool to work yet but when I do, the homework booklets will be moved onto there. Please email me if you are having any troubles opening up the document. (I sent home a pink sheet with my contact information on it.)

Orange Shirt Day - Monday, October 1

Orange Shirt Day is a legacy of the St. Joseph Mission (SJM) residential school
commemoration event held in Williams Lake, BC, Canada, in the spring of 2013. It
grew out of Phyllis' story of having her shiny new orange shirt taken away on her
first day of school at the Mission, and it has become an opportunity to keep the
discussion on all aspects of residential schools happening annually.

TLC students do not need to wear their uniform that day.

Love,

Ms. Dang
