Important Dates
  • Celebration of Learning Assembly - March 12, 2020 - AM students will need to wear FORMAL uniform. 
  • Student Led Conferences on Thursday, March 19th 2:30pm - 4:00pm and 5:00pm - 7:30pm (online booking starts on March 4)
Literacy
This week we started learning sight words and made our own sight word cards. We also practiced using them in a sentence. Please practice the following words with your child: I, a, to, is, on, can, the, see, in, you, it, mom, and, dad, was, for 

Math
Students learned new math words this week: above and below
They were able to use these words in a math sentence.
For example: "The circle is ABOVE the square." or "The square is BELOW the circle."

Pink Shirt Day
Pink Shirt Day raises awareness about bullying and raises funds for anti-bullying programs. We talked about what it means to be a good friend. Here are some examples: 





Wellness Survey

Things to practice at home: 
  1. Letter A-Z and the sounds they makes. 
  2. Shapes around you (squares, rectangles, circles, triangles)
  3. Vertices (Corners) and Sides 
  4. Above and Below
  5. Sight Words (I, a, is, to, the, can, on, see, in, you, it, and, mom, dad, he, she, was for)
Home reading is due back on Thursday this week.
