Hello families and friends,
It was nice to see families at the open house. It is always nice to see families come in and see the environment that we are working in. I hope to see everyone again soon at our parent teacher conferences. But if anything is to come up before then, please feel free to send me an email.
Bucket Filler
What does it mean to be a bucket filler? "A bucket filler is a loving, caring person who says and does nice things that make others feel special." We read a book called, "Have You Filled a Bucket Today?". In the book, we learned that everyone has an invisible bucket. The things we do can either empty or fill someones bucket. Here are some things that fill buckets.
Nature Walk
On Tuesday, we went on a nature walk. We looked for signs of fall and collected things for our alphabet wall. Ask your child what are some of the signs of fall. We learned to not just take from nature but to ask if it is okay. If we feel that mother nature said yes and it feels good we can take it, if not, we return it and find something else. We found a lot of great things. Ask your child what are some of the things they found.
Things to practice at home:
Writing your name. The first letter is upper case and the rest are lower case.
Using scissors and cutting simple shapes (circle, triangle, square.. etc)
Sorting different objects by colour.
Love,
Ms. Dang
